Cavern Cove and Author Update

Hello!  Happy Friday! I hope you all are having a wonderful week! I know it’s been AGES since I’ve posted here and I am so sorry! It’s been a hectic last six to seven months. But I did want to post an Author update and an update on Cavern Cove for you!

I am still hard at work writing my second book, “Connection Lost” (Name is still being thought through!) It is a post-apocalyptic book after the lights go out. And let me tell you. Never say the author runs the show when it comes to writing a book. These characters are FULLY in charge. I’ll be typing and boom! There’s a curveball I wasn’t expecting! lol. So, I am SUPER excited for you to see what’s going on with Ann, David, Tyler and Jace! (Am I bad for thinking to change one of the protagonist’s name? Tyler really isn’t working for me and I don’t know why! She is the teen daughter struggling to get to her new home with her small group of friends. But, I am on Chapter 33, and over 75k words into the book. What should I do??? Agh! read post >>

Random Author Get to Know Me Blog Post

As a writer, I knew there would be different topics in a story line that would have to be researched.  And as authors, we ALWAYS joke about what is in our search engines and how we are now on the FBI Watchlist.

I am currently writing a post apocalyptic book, so, yes, my search history is a bit scary!  NSA, FBI, CIA – any of those agencies, I’m innocent I tell ya, I’m innocent!  I’ve actually gotten to the point, I now include writer or author in the search as well. Hoping that deters them from coming and banging on my door. read post >>

A Post-Apocalyptic World

Hey Guys!  I hope you had a great weekend!

This weekend I started Chapter 12 of my current book, which is a post-apocalyptic after the lights go out in America.

It got me thinking!  Yes, I know, dangerous territory!  Did you see the smoke? 🙂

So, I started to think, what would and wouldn’t I miss in a post – apocalyptic world? read post >>

Chapter 1

I STOOD STILL ON THE SIDEWALK as the other kids rushed
around me. Some were laughing, while others were listening to music,
texting or had their eyes on a book in their hands. I stand there staring at
the school, wishing I were anywhere but here. I want to be back at my old
school, Madison High in Texas. Really, who lives in Delaware? Or, as the
postcards like to play on words, Dela-WHERE? Who knew this small
three County State was even a State! I only knew because my
Grandparents live here. And this is where I’m sentenced to spend my
senior year of High School. read post >>

Dreams that turn into a book idea

Ever have a dream that is so startling, that it wakes you up from a deep sleep?  I had one this morning. I woke up suddenly after hearing my mom call my name. I sat up in bed and immediately grabbed my phone to search dreams and what they mean.  In this case, someone I knew, calling my name just meant that I was in such a deep and relaxed sleep that my mind was open and accepted communication from the other side. I’ve had dreams before, of things that may happen in the future, but, I’ve never had a deceased family member talk to me. read post >>
